The Parks: Urban Culture Lab and Residency is a space which will open officially in 2022. Based in leafy Greenside on the edge of the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, this space will cater for cultural workers, academics, urban activists and others, who are interested in how culture can build sustainable cities. It is planned as a residency space housing up to six people and with a niche cultural space for up to 20 participants. Workshops, talks, screenings, performances and more will all be hosted. The residency is situated on a property where edibles are grown in abundance, amongst indigenous plants. It complements the work of Creative City South, whose offices are based on the premises.
